Testing
We are an authorized representative for Siron Dry Deluge Testing. This technology is patented and has been extensively field tested and is used offshore regularly in the Dutch and UK sectors. Siron Dry Deluge Testing offers the client the justification needed to prove to the HSE and regulatory bodies that the deluge system remains in a fit for purpose condition in between mandatory wet testing. It is also the only available testing method without discharging water which quickly identifies damaged nozzles, a common failure mode that directly affects the application rate within the protected area. This testing can be used on all material types and has no limit on the size of the system that can be tested. Deluge systems remain live and online throughout the complete process and at no time is any equipment installed that impedes the flow path of firewater to the protected area.
The patented Dry Deluge Test from SIRON Fire Protection Services provides many advantages over regular (sea) water testing
- Testing is safer and considerably less expensive.
- The testing can be performed in a segmented way. Thus, operating processes can remain uninterrupted.
- The preparation work for Dry Deluge Testing is considerably shorter than for regular wet tests.
- Any leakages in the flow pipes are easier to spot.
- Residual water from former tests will be blown out of the deluge system.
- Reduced internal corrosion in flow pipes and nozzles, leading to less solids in the system and thus, less blockages.
- The process equipment is protected from any (sea)water contact during testing, and remains in better condition.
- Absence of wastewater to be processed after the test, no overflowing sump tanks.
- Reduced salt scaling inside flow pipes and nozzles, leading to less solids in the system and thus, less blockages.
- No new organism like e.g. sea shells will thrive in flow pipes, leading to less blockages. We do Foam testing as well.
Good quality firefighting foam is essential when covering (fluid) fires. Since testing the quality is a procedure which should only be done by trained personnel, Siron also provides this service. Samples from foam tanks and of processed foam will be taken for laboratory examination. NFPA-11 recommends all foam systems to be thoroughly inspected and checked for proper operation annually. Inspections should include performance evaluation of the foam concentrate or premix solution quality.
